| United Roots The DJ Project In 2005 The DJ Project received funding from the Community Technology Foundation of California (CTFC) to build two new satellite studios and implement new programming in Oakland, California. Youth from Unity High School and Raparations Records were selected to participate in this 3-month program cycle in which participants collaborated to make music in separate physical locations. Using video-conferencing technology and file sharing software, this project was an experiment in effective communication, musical creation and teambuilding through technology.
