| Brown Pride Soldiers CD Brown Pride Soldiers The Brown Pride Soldiers music project is a departure from The DJ Project's standard model of pressing CD compilations created by the youth that pass through our program cycles. Six months ago, these young Mission cats came to The DJ Project asking about getting some studio time. Our program cycles were already underway, so we encouraged them to return in a few months to enroll in the next cycle. After listening to their vision to express their stories of gang life and transformation, incarceration, the pain of losing friends, and Latino pride, we wanted to find a way to get their stories to the streets. Take a Spanish class, folks, because these kids are keeping it real en español! |
